Clays & Powders for your natural skincare product.

Face masks have traditionally been made with clays and muds because of their drawing effect on the skin. Clays are very popular because they are so effective at clearing out the skin. Clays can help to draw out impurities, bacteria, and sebum and can exfoliate dead skin cells and blackheads without friction. This is especially helpful to those people with acne or oily-prone skin. But even sensitive and mature skin can benefit from clays, as they are rich in minerals and acids that give the skin a clear complexion.

We use different powders to aid with brightening, antioxidant, calming and exfoliating properties. They all have their multitasking job to perform.

Here are just a few common clays and powders you can include in your natural Skincare Products

Bentonite Clay

Bentonite has astringent properties which helps shrink enlarged pores due to the accumulation of oil and dirt. It provides gentle exfoliation which helps naturally cleanse and unclog pores and is useful for treating problem skin. When used in natural deodorants, nutrient-rich bentonite clay helps absorb sweat naturally.

French Green Clay

It has great absorbent powers and literally "drinks" oils, toxins and impurities from your skin. Its toning action stimulates the skin bringing fresh blood to damaged skin cells, revitalizing the complexion while tightening pores. This clay is great for oily skin and helps to clear problem skin.

Kaolin Clay

Kaolin is one of the mildest and purest of all natural clays. It can be used on dry or sensitive skin and is often used in fine face powders. The colors of Kaolin clays can vary and are due to the mineral content of the rock areas from which they are mined.

In hair care, gentle and rich in silica, kaolin clay helps clean scalp without drying. It calms inflammation and helps moisturize dry, brittle hair

Kaolin Clay, French Pink

Extremely beneficial for dry and sensitive skin, it gently cleans, exfoliates, and eliminates clogged pores, while improving circulation. Pink clay is soothing, cleansing, hydrating and detoxifying and gives soap a smooth creamy lather and a lovely rose color.

Rhassoul Clay

Due to its ability to absorb oil and impurities, rhassoul clay leaves the hair and skin unbelievably clean, smooth, moisturized and feeling fresh. It removes dead skin, surface oil, and oil from inside and around clogged pores.

In hair care, it stimulates the scalp, helps restore softness and luster to dull hair and nourishes because of the higher ratio of silica, magnesium, potassium, calcium, and other trace minerals.
